Die Kirchenburg von Biertan steht auf einem Hügel gut sichtbar von der Ortseinfahrt. Diese spätgotische Hallenkirche wurde in den Jahren 1500 bis 1516 erbaut und zählt, wie auch der innere Ortskern, zu der UNESCO Welterbeliste. Sehr imposant und noch in Restaurierung.
The church fortress of Biertan is located on a hill viewable from the entrance of the village. This late gothic hall church was build in 1500 to 1516 and is counted to UNESCO world heritage as well as the center of the village. Very impressive and still under restauration.

Die Ostbastei - das Gefängnis - dort wurden zerstrittene Eheleute solange eingesperrt, bis sie sich wieder versöhnt haben. Sie mussten sich gemeinsam 1Bett, 1Tisch, 1Sessel, 1Teller, 1Löffel, 1Becher teilen.
Und wie es so sein soll, sitzt die Frau und der Mann muss stehen!
In the eastbuilding - the prison - married quarreled couples had to stay untill they reconciled. They had to share 1bed, 1 table, 1chair, 1plate, 1spoon, 1glass.
And as it has to be, the women is seated and the man has to stand!

The village Biertan
Angekommen in Sighisoara, die als sechste der sieben Burgen gegründet wurde, geht es zu Fuss eine steile Strasse hinauf in die Oberstadt. Die Stadtbefestigung ist rund um einen sehr gut erhaltenen Kern von mittelalterlichen Wohnhäusern der Handwerker und Kirchen angelegt. Angeblich und historisch nicht belegt, wurde dort 1431 Vlad Tepes, das Vorbild zu der Draculafigur, geboren.
After arriving in Sighisoara, which was founded as the sixth of seven castles, we had to walk up a steep street to reach the upper town. The town fortification was build around a very good kept mediaeval city core with houses of workers and churches. 1431 Vlad Tepes, the model for Dracula was supposed to be born there, but this is not historical proved.
